COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The girls basketball regular season wrapped up Friday night, and for Coldwater, they couldn’t solve Lumen Christi’s 5-foot-11 post player, Cat Carroll. She had a 29-point, 15-rebound double-double to help lift the visiting Titans to a 62-51 win against the Cardinals.
In their last-ever games on the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium floor, Carlee Crabtree led Coldwater with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, while fellow senior Taylor Wilber drained a 3-pointer and had 2 steals. They were our McDonald’s Players of the Game.
With their fifth straight loss, the Cardinals closed out the regular season at 8-12 overall; their 6-8 record in the Interstate 8 placed them in a tie for fourth with Marshall in the final league standings. Coldwater opens up district play Wednesday night against either Gull Lake or Lakeview.
In the battle for the Interstate 8 girls basketball title at Parma, Western pulled away in the second half to defeat Harper Creek 51-35.
