COMSTOCK, MI (WTVB) – Union City bounced from Tuesday’s doubleheader loss to Bronson by sweeping Comstock on Thursday by scores of 22-5 and 20-3. Both games were shortened to four innings because of the mercy rule.
Tyler Wagley and Cam Dibert both had two hits in the first game while Wyatt King drove in three runs. Wagley was the winning pitcher as struck out five in four innings of work.
Union City had 13 hits in the second game and took advantage of six Comstock errors. Wagley and Chris Wozniak both had three hits in the second game with Wagley and Andrew Linnabary-Smith both driving in three runs. Logan Bailey was the second game winner on the mound as he struck out six in three innings.
With the sweep, the Chargers improved to record to 12-14.
