EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued an apology on Sunday after a photo surfaced of her at a restaurant where social distancing violations were observed.
The Detroit News reports the picture showed her at a restaurant with at least 12 other people where tables had been pushed together. Under current pandemic guidelines, tables at restaurants are not supposed to be joined together. It happened at a restaurant in East Lansing on Saturday and it’s believed one of Whitmer’s friends had posted the picture on social media.
In a statement, the Governor said since all of them had been vaccinated, they didn’t think about it. But she says she should have and that it was a mistake and she was sorry.
