STURGIS, MI. – (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls finished second while the boys team was third on Sunday at the Sturgis Invitational.
The Girls qualified first out of 12 teams with a score of 2,616. They advanced to the finals thanks to a victory over Jonesville but lost to Coloma in the finals. Senior Cassie Pokorney and Junior Noella Keplinger earned all tournament honors.
The Boys qualified second out of 14 teams with a total score of 2,672. The boys faced Jonesville in the first round of elimination only to fall to the eventual winner of the tournament. They then defeated Pennfield 1,119 to 1,077 In the consultation round to finish third. The boys were led by Dayten Yearling with a high game of the day of 241 and Kai Kinsey with a 214.
