COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Democratic Party Chair David McMillan has announced that the Branch County Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, February 22 in the third floor conference room at the Branch District Library in Coldwater.
The event will start at 12:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Those who plan to attend are asked to bring a photo ID as attendance will be taken and recorded.
McMillan says the purpose of the County Convention will be to consider and draft resolutions to be submitted to the State Party and to select individuals to fill the suggested allocated seats on the Rules, Resolutions and Credentialing committee of the State Party.
In order to vote at any Convention, Caucus or meeting of the Michigan Democratic Party at any level, a person has to be a party member for at least 30 days. Precinct delegates, Democratic elected officials and Democratic nominees to partisan offices are exempt from the 30 day requirement.
