QUINCY – (WTVB) – The Quincy Fire Department reports that their call volume increased by 16 percent in 2019 over 2018 and by nearly 54 percent over the last five years.
According to their year end report which was posted on the Department’s Facebook page, they had 218 total runs which included 17 building fires and nine vehicle fires.
Quincy firefighters were also dispatched to 39 motor vehicle accidents and 37 Priority One medical assists.
The average response time was just over 12 minutes and the average time on the scene was 47 minutes.
The Quincy Fire Department has 19 active on call firefighters. They provide first-due coverage to 109 square miles.
There were over 3,000 Man-hours of department training. In addition, 25 staffed shifts logged more than 300 man-hours.
