KINDERHOOK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Three persons inside of a Kinderhook Township home managed to get to safety on Wednesday afternoon when a fire broke out.
The blaze at 858 Purdy Road was first reported at 3:43 p.m..
According to scanner traffic, two persons initially got out of the house but a man in a wheelchair at first refused to leave before he eventually got out of the structure.
Lakeland firefighters received mutual aide from the Fremont, Indiana Fire Department and the fire was called under control at 4:05 p.m..
Crews were on the scene until 5:36 p.m..
Lifecare Ambulance was also sent to the scene. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department assisted with traffic control.
No further information on the fire was available.
