COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Farmers Market will return to Downtown Coldwater for its 7th season starting this Saturday.
The Market will run for 12 weeks from June 26 through September 11. Hours each Saturday will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m..
Sponsors for the Market are ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital, the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority, Honor Credit Union, the Branch County Community Foundation, Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Coldwater Solar, Rainbow Motors and Dally Tire.
There will be many of the same vendors as there has been over the past six seasons prior, and some new vendors as well. Weekly entertainment will return with Mike Dougherty for the first week. For several years, the Branch County Community Foundation has also provided shoppers with reusable bags when they come into the market, which they are doing again this year.
Regular vendors at the market include Jam Man, K’s Acres, Union City Rotary Maple Syrup, Jayne’s Pie Pantry, Stutzman’s Produce, Naomi Graber Baked Goods, Ideas Galore, American Flower Trends, 1971 Farm, Freedom Farms, D’s Treasures, Coldwater Garden Club, and Badassery Cowgirl.
Market vendors will provide locally grown products like fresh fruits, vegetables, maple syrup, meat, eggs, dairy, flowers, plants, baked goods, dry goods, and prepared foods. A small percentage of the market will include non-food products with the idea that the item must be of high quality and locally made by the vendor. No mass-produced items will be allowed.
Volunteer committee members organizing the 2021 market include Luke Bovee, Audrey Tappenden, Val Albright of MSU Extension, Georgia Balsley Hargett and Courtney Dirschell of 2nd Story Marketing.
