QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy School Board of Education formally approved the hiring of Mellissa Connin on Monday night as the new principal at Jennings Elementary.
Connin is a Quincy High School graduate who has been in education for 28 years. She had spent her entire teaching career in Quincy and most recently served as a science teacher at Jennings Elementary.
Connin will take over for long time Jennings Principal Ron Olmsted who announced his retirement in February with a “heavy heart” and that it would be effective at the end of his current contract this Friday.
Olmsted served as the Principal at Jennings since 1998.
In other business from Monday’s meeting, high school principal Amanda Webb reported 35 students will be taking part in a Summer Credit Recovery program. The three day-a-week program started Tuesday and will run through July 15.
