BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The last of the Consumers Energy customers in Branch County who lost their power following a series of severe storms that rumbled through the area Sunday night and early Monday morning got their power restored on Tuesday night.
The last area to get their power back was along Southern Road west of I-69. That was where a severe storm that went through just before 3:00 a.m. Monday morning spawned a confirmed F-1 tornado that touched down near U.S. 127 and I-69 in Steuben County.
The storm caused severe damage along the Michigan-Indiana state line.
Over 2,400 Consumers Energy customers in Branch County lost their power at the height of the storm.
All of the utility’s customers are also back on line in Hillsdale County. Over 5,500 customers in Hillsdale County lost their power because of the storm.
