BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – What has turned into a soggy month of June will come to a close on Wednesday with some people wondering if it will ever stop raining.
Since June 18, the M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Diary Farm has recorded 6.1 inches of rain as there has been rainfall for 11 out of the last 12 days which includes 1.05 inches that was measured on Tuesday.
Heavy rain moved through just before 4:00 p.m. which led to a one hour rainfall measurement of 0.81 inches.
That included seven straight days of rain through Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, there has been rain recorded at the weather station during 16 of the 29 days in June.
As of midnight on Wednesday morning, there has been a total of 7.22 inches recorded at that location for the month.
Showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday but things are expected to dry out over the holiday weekend. The extended forecast is calling for a sunny holiday weekend with highs in the 80s.
As of noon on Tuesday, no roads have been closed because of high water by the Branch County Road Commission.
Branch County normally gets three-and-a-half inches of rain during the month of June.
