COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Stephen Todd has been nominated by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency and Area Agency on Aging IIIC for the Michigan Aging & Adult Services Agency’s 2021 Senior Citizen of the Year Award.
Health Officer Rebecca Burns says “Mr. Todd’s efforts to help the agency during the pandemic have been invaluable. Steve volunteered his expertise as the former Health Officer to assist the agency in planning and design of the multiple testing and vaccination clinics that were held in all three counties. Not only did he help in the planning, he could be found outside at almost every clinic in all three counties, no matter the weather, directing traffic and helping to organize.”
Area Agency on Aging Director Laura Sutter says, “The sensitivity he holds for older adults and people with disabilities shone as he worked with our Area Agency on Aging (AAA) division. Bringing forth real life caregiver perspective and advice from his own neighbors whom he looked in on, we could always count on Steve shedding a light to our program development efforts.”
Todd retired from the Community Health Agency as the Health Officer after a 40-year career. In his retirement, he volunteers with the local AAA Advisory Committee and in a state-level advocacy role with the Michigan Senior Advocates Council.
