COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The summer of orange barrels continues in the City of Coldwater.
The resurfacing of Western Avenue and State Street from Grand Street to Bishop Avenue began on Tuesday. Through traffic has been closed and the work is scheduled to end by August 31.
The Coldwater City Council awarded a bid of over $268,000 to Parrish Excavating of Quincy for the resurfacing work back in March.
Five bids were submitted for the project which has been budgeted for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
The project will involve asphalt milling, paving and concrete repairs.
Meanwhile, the completion of the North Monroe Street project was delayed by the large amount of rain which fell during the last two weeks of June. Work was scheduled to resume on Tuesday.
Sauk River Drive remains closed as the road widening project continues. Last but least, work on the U.S. 12 project between Western and Michigan Avenues is scheduled to start next Monday.
