ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Angola woman has died at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne from the injuries she sustained Tuesday afternoon when her bicycle was hit from behind by a Steuben County Highway Department dump truck.
The Angola Police Department reported in a news release they issued on Thursday afternoon they were notified by the Allen County Coroner’s Office that 67-year-old Susan Stroh had passed away.
Police say the investigation into the crash is continuing and once it’s complete, a report will be filed with the Steuben County Prosecutor for review.
The crash happened on Wendell Jacob Avenue near Glendarin Way. According to Angola Police, an eastbound dump truck which was driven by 43-year-old Jared Perkins of Montgomery hit the back of the bicycle which was being driven by Stroh. The circumstances surrounding the crash have not been released by investigators.
Police say she suffered a head injury and broken bones. Stroh was taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital before she was flown by the Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview.
