COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Public Utilities officials now say all customers who lost power in Thursday morning’s storm now have their electricity back. CBPU Director Jeff Budd made the announcement around 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
The severe thunderstorm that swept through Branch County brought heavy rain and high wind gusts from 60 to 80 mph. CBPU officials say Coldwater was hit hard by the storm, leaving the community with severe thunderstorm damage.
Downed trees, limbs, and poles caused power outages to roughly 1,625 Coldwater Board of Public Utilities’ customers.
Extensive damage to utility poles and power lines result in extended outage times for roughly 800 CBPU customers in areas hit the hardest by the storm. They got their power back throughout the day Saturday.
Electric crews from Bryan, Ohio, Napoleon, Ohio, Bowling Green, Ohio, and Marshall, Michigan assisted CBPU efforts.
Good job. Thank you.
