COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Planning Commission is scheduled Tuesday night to consider a Special Use Permit for the operation of a proposed adult use recreational marijuana establishment at 55 South Michigan Avenue.
Paul Schmitz is the petitioner for the proposed operation. City Planner Dean Walrack says in his report for Tuesday’s meeting that the property currently has a single-family home and detached garage which will be demolished while a new building and parking lots will be constructed. Schmitz said in his application that the residence is 65 years old. He plans to have a building with “upscale features and fit the character of the Michigan Avenue corridor.” It would be located between Becker Eye Care and Bree Onti Salon and Spa.
The Planning Commission is also scheduled to review a site plan from Highwire Farms of Adrian to build a 3,200 square foot retail building with a 59 space parking lot at the Willowbrook Plaza Shopping Center. A Special Land Use Permit for the proposed adult use recreational marijuana businesses was approved August 16.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion on potential changes to the city’s Landscaping Ordinance.

Please vote this down…. we already have enough of these establishments in the area ! Is Coldwater trying to change its name to “Weed City” ???
