JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – The Sauk Theatre’s Executive Director Trinity Bird is asking those who bought tickets for Ed Asner’s performance next month to consider donating their tickets back to the theatre.
Asner passed away August 29 at the age of 91 and was scheduled to perform at The Sauk in October. Bird said, “As we continued to prepare for his visit this October, sales had reached nearly $8,000 with about 35 percent capacity yet to sell. We were expecting this to be a large fundraiser for us and a great boost to our finances that have been low due to limited capacity, smaller shows and delayed production dates.”
Bird added the donations “would make a world of difference as we look to the future.”
Asner’s visit was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bird said refunds can be offered but it is complicated given the amount of time tickets have been available.
Only credit card purchases made in the last 90 days can be refunded to credit or debit cards.
For those who purchased their tickets prior to that time, their refund would come in the form of a check from the ticket vendor, TicketsToTheCity. Refunds can take up to eight weeks to process.
