HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect they were looking for after a fatal hit and run crash was arrested over the holiday weekend.
The Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Dylan Lee Jones of Hillsdale was lodged in the Hillsdale County Jail on Saturday after he was arrested by the Michigan State Police in Reading Township. Troopers made a traffic stop as the result of a “Be on the Lookout” report.
Jones was arrested on a felony warrant on charges of Reckless Driving Causing Death and Failure to Stop at the Scene of a Crash Resulting in Death.
He was also booked for violating his parole for which he is being held without bond. His bond on the felony warrant is $80,000.
Jones has been charged in connection with the death of 56-year-old Kevin Brewer.
Brewer was walking down Moore Road near Wildlife Drive in Fayette Township on the morning of August 21 when he was struck by a white Chevy Malibu.
The Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle stopped and then drove off. Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene.
