Oven fire at Sekisui Voltek takes about a half hour to put out

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Three fire departments had to be called in when an oven fire broke out Wednesday morning at Sekisui Voltek in Coldwater.

The oven fire was reported at 10:18 a.m. in the south end of the building. Employees in that part of the facility managed to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported.

Coldwater firefighters were initially dispatched. Quincy firefighters were called in on automatic mutual aid. Lakeland fire crews were also dispatched but the fire was called out just minutes later at 10:45 a.m..

The cause of the fire is not known. The last fire crew cleared the scene at 11:21 a.m..
