BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers stunned the state-ranked Reading Rangers 26-20 in overtime on Team of Fame Night at Alumni Field.
Terrance Morgan Junior scored the winning touchdown in OT on a four yard run.
Garrett Iobe’s second touchdown of the night forced overtime as he scampered 56 yards to the house with just 1:58 left in regulation.
The Chargers are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Big 8.
The Rangers did not have several starters available as they were in COVID-19 quarantine. Reading was ranked fourth in Division Eight in this past week’s Michigan Associated Press High School Football poll.
Quincy had a rough night as they lost at Homer 72-30. Tae’Sean Bodley and Ethan Hollister both scored a pair of touchdowns for the Orioles.
