COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys soccer team has advanced to the MHSAA District Finals, thanks to a 2-0 win over Vicksburg in the semi finals Tuesday night.
The win sets up a rematch Thursday night with Marshall, after the two teams shared the Interstate 8 Conference regular season title. Marshall advanced to the District title game with a 3-0 win over Sturgis.
The Coldwater-Vicksburg game was scoreless through the first half, with Brayden Boyd scoring the first goal of the game with 37:44 to play in the second half, assisted by Naj Norman.
Norman had a second assist with 30:08 to play in the game on a goal from Ahmed Omar to close out the scoring.
Trevor Hensinger made four saves in goal, as Coldwater outshot Vicksburg 8-7. The Cardinals improve to 13-6-2 on the season, while Vicksurg finishes at 15-3-3.
The Division Two Diistrict Final will be Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Larsen Stadium.
