PITTSBURGH, PA (WKZO AM/FM) – The Pittsburgh Steelers fumbled twice in overtime and the Detroit Lions missed a game-winning field goal in a 16-16 tie in Pittsburgh Sunday.
A 51-yard field goal from Steelers kicker Chris Boswell tied the game early in the fourth quarter, and the teams traded punts until the end of regulation.
Lions kicker Ryan Santoso missed a potential game-winning 48 yard field goal in overtime. He also missed an extra point attempt in regulation.
Mason Rudolph passed for 242 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while Najee Harris rushed for 105 yards. Ben Roethlisberger missed the game after being placed on the COVID-19 list.
TJ Watt injured his hip and knee in the third quarter and didn’t return. The Steelers are in second place in the AFC North with a 5-3-and-1 record.
D’Andre Swift had 130 rushing yards, but Jared Goff managed just 114 passing yards. It’s the first game that Detroit hasn’t lost in 2021. The Lions’ 12-game losing streak is over, moving to 0-8-and-1 on the season.
The Lions will travel to Cleveland this Sunday.
