COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Even though the Branch County turnout was less than the 10% of those who turned up in the November 2024 General Election, the number was up slightly from the August 2024 Primary Election for this year’s early in-person voting that wrapped up Sunday.
The nine-day period ran from July 25-August 2 at the Dearth Center in Coldwater.
County Clerk Terry Kubasiak says 498 people cast an early in-person ballot this year, compared to 487 in August 2024. In the November 2024 General Election, 5,123 voted early in-person.
The voting machines were collected at the end of the day Sunday, and are locked up at the Branch County Courthouse until counting begins after the regular polls close at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Absentee ballots are still be accepted through tomorrow.
