COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – More than 400 people took part over the weekend in the third annual Branch County Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Coldwater. The Saturday morning event on the 3 mile course at Heritage Park brought pledges of nearly $23,000 with half of the funds raised staying in Branch County with the other money earmarked for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. An additional $342 was also raised for the Branch County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
Donations for the 2015 walk can still be made through the end of the year. Next year’s Walk is tentatively scheduled for Saturday October 8 2016. A total of almost $80,000 has been raised with the Branch County Out of the Darkness Community Walk in Coldwater during the 3 annual events.
