DEKALB, IL (WKZO AM/FM) – Quarterback Kaleb Elerby threw five touchdown passes Tuesday night as Western Michigan University won at Northern Illinois 42-21.
Three of Elerby’s scoring strikes went to Skyy Moore in the second quarter. Elerby reached 3,000 passing yards on the season, and has back-to-back 300-yard games
Moore’s 208 yards are the eighth most in a single game in program history. He has 91 receptions, 1,256 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns this season. All rank in the top-10 of the Western Michigan single-season receiving records. Tuesday was Moore’s eighth 100-yard performance of the season, and fifth game with 10 or more receptions.
Elerby wound up passing for 336 yards as the Broncos closed the regular season at 7-5 overall and 4-4 in the MAC.
Last week NIU captured the Mid American Conference West Division crown. With the loss they drop to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the MAC.
