COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Thousands of vehicles on Coldwater’s north side use it daily as a bridge to get across I-69 but they won’t today. The State Street I-69 overpass is set to be closed from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The City of Coldwater says they have to temporarily shut down the busy route to allow the City’s Board of Public Utilities to install infrastructure leading out to the Clemens Food Group pork production facility under construction. Detour signs have been posted advising motorists to use the Newton Road overpass via North Michigan Avenue and North Fiske Road.
It’s just one more project in a very hectic season for city crews as a number of streets in Coldwater have been blockaded with the repaving and sewer work to continue thru the end of next month.
