COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater boys basketball team opened their season Friday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium with a lopsided 64-25 win over the short handed Jackson Lumen Christi Titans.
It was the Interstate 8 opener for both teams. Due to illness, Lumen Christi was only able to dress nine players.
The Cardinals dominated from the opening tip as they built leads of 16-6 after the first quarter and 32-16 at the half. A 21-5 third quarter gave Coldwater a 53-21 lead.
The undermanned Titans gamely kept the game from getting into a running clock mode during the final quarter.

Brandon Downs added 12 points while Evan Sloan had 11 points. Brock Thornton and Donte Work both scored six points. Thornton also had six rebounds. Elijah Sloan had a pair of steals.
