COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved an agreement that has been reached between the Branch County Memorial Airport and two nearby residents on Branch Road.
The Avigation Easement agreement states that the airport will pay Alvin and Mayann Worley $16,000 for an easement in and through the air space over and across their property next to the airport.
The agreement calls for the easement to terminate at such time that the Airport is no longer used for airport purposes.
The settlement will be paid for out of airport funds and ends a dispute that has been going on for nearly two years which centered around the height of trees near an airport approach to a grass runway.
The dispute affected the type of licensing the airport could operate under especially in light of the increased traffic at the airport in recent years.
