Beryl
J. Odren, 87, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at her home.
A
memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation services have been provided by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Beryl
was born December 28, 1932 in Speen, Buckinghamshire, England to Reginald G.
& Alice (Pocock) Janes. She married
John E. Odren on January 21, 1954 in High Wycombe, Bucks, UK.
Mrs.
Odren was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. After her two children were into their school
years she went back to school, earning her bachelor’s degree from Western
Michigan University.
Beryl began her teaching career in 1973, teaching
geography at Coldwater High School.
Later she was instrumental in establishing the French language program
there, and taught French for the remainder of her years with Coldwater High
School.
Beryl
enjoyed gardening and photography, and loved hearing from her former
students. Later in life she enjoyed
spending time with her three grandchildren.
Beryl
is survived by her husband John; her sons David Odren (Gerardo Garcia) of
Chicago, IL, and Michael (Kathie) Odren of Coldwater; her siblings Edward
(Jean) Janes of Lacey Green, Bucks, UK and Shirley Boekbinder of Winslow,
Bucks, UK; her grandchildren Elizabeth (Cameron) Long of Fort Wayne, IN, Amanda
Odren of San Bruno, CA, and Jonathan Odren of Coldwater; and her great
grandchildren Julia & Benjamin Long.
She was preceded in death by her
brother Maurice Janes.
