Morris William Taylor, 95, of Coldwater, passed away
Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Maple Lawn. Visitation will be held Tuesday,
August 27, 2019 from 4-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Following
cremation, a graveside service will be held Thursday, September 12, 2019 at
3:00 PM at Fisher Hill Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the American
Legion Post #52, Drill Team.
Morris was born September 12, 1923 in Coldwater, MI to Clare
& Marilla (Goss) Taylor. He served in the US Army during WWII, earning 2
Purple Heart medals. Morris married Shirley Jean Smith on April 12, 1947 in
Coldwater. She preceded him in death on January 19, 1992.
Mr. Taylor was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating his
own farm. He also worked for 20 years at the former Shaw Shoe Factory in
Coldwater. Morris was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Morris is survived by his sons Morris (Marlise) Taylor of
Coldwater, Michael (Audrey) Taylor of Coldwater, Mark (Dot) Taylor of Quincy,
his brother Jim (Yvonne) Taylor of Dade City, FL, his grandchildren Alicia
(Scott) Wilber, Beth Taylor, Margaret (Troy) Setser, Michelle (Kip) Burkhardt,
Michael (Marisha) Taylor, Dennis (Angela) Taylor, Katrina (Tom) Gavala, many
great and great, great grandchildren and companion Noreen McLatcher of
Coldwater. In addition to his wife, he
was preceded in death by his grandchildren Sherrie Taylor and Matthew Taylor,
his brothers Robert and Richard Taylor and his sister Mary Ann Lawton.
