COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In Branch County high school sports, it will be a busy first weekend of competition in the 2015 fall season. On today’s schedule, in girls golf, Coldwater plays in the Western Invitational at the Arbor Hills Golf Course while the Coldwater boys tennis team has its season opener at the Vicksburg Invitational. In boys soccer, Quincy starts its season with a 5:30 p.m. match at Comstock.
Tomorrow in varsity boys soccer, Coldwater begins its season at the Portage Soccer Complex in the Justin Bailey Shootout, facing Mattawan at 11 a.m. and Portage Northern at 2 p.m.. Also on Saturday, the volleyball season begins for county teams with Coldwater, Quincy, and Union City at the Battle Creek YMCA for the Carrie Adams Memorial Invitational hosted by St. Philip Catholic Central, while Bronson starts out at home with the Bronson Invitational. Saturday in cross country, it’s opening day for Bronson and Union City as they run at the Colon Invitational.
