Heidi Geraldine Long, 68, of Tekonsha, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
A memorial service will take place at the Union Church UCC of Tekonsha on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jennifer Fair officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, 616 N. Main Street, Tekonsha.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
Heidi was born on July 17, 1950 in Germany. She was adopted in 1951 by Chester and Leah Connelly. Heidi graduated from Marshall High School with the Class of 1968. On August 14, 1976 she married Gerry Long at the Union Church in Tekonsha. Heidi had worked for Oaklawn Hospital and retired from State Farm in Marshall, where she had worked for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, volunteering at the Branch Area Food Pantry and going to antique sales. She especially loved her golden retriever “Maggie”.
Surviving are her husband Gerry Long of Tekonsha, brothers-in-law, Jerry (Patricia) Long of Tekonsha and Russell (Sandy) Long of Quincy and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.
