ATLANTA, GA (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions came close to getting their third win of the season but lost in Atlanta Sunday 20-16.
The Lions had a chance to win the game in the final seconds after the defense forced an Atlanta turnover. But Tim Boyle, who was filling in for Jared Goff after he tested positive for COVID-19, threw an interception deep in Atlanta territory with about 30 seconds left.
Boyle passed for 187 yards and a touchdown.
Matt Ryan threw for 215 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons.
Detroit falls to 2-12-and-1 and will play at Seattle this coming Sunday.
