COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Cardinal Bowlers swept Lumen Christi in their Interstate 8 season opening matches on Tuesday at Midway Lanes.
The Girls Varsity won their meet 26 to 4, with regular games of 725 to 692 and 702 to 672, taking totals 1427 to 1364. They also took both Baker games 174 to 117 and 161 to 136, taking total 335 to 253. Violet Waltke rolled two games of 178 to lead the girls. Ema Shidler had a 156 and Lily Cook a 152.
The Boys Varsity rolled to their first conference win by a score of 29 to 1. Coldwater took both regular games, 851 to 701 and 862 to 676, taking totals 1713-1377. They also took both Baker games 203-145 and 146-126, taking totals 349-271. Coldwater was led by Chance Cook with a high game of 215, Austin Johnson with a 202 and Vinnie Beekman with a 194.
The JV team bowled a split squad game as Lumen Christi could not field a full team with Coldwater winning 21 to 9.
Leading Coldwater was Lennon Swick with a 191 and Alexis Wood with a 143.
