COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man was formally charged on Tuesday in Branch County District Court following the break-in of a home and the subsequent theft of a motor vehicle.
Following a Michigan State Police investigation, 20-year-old Daymon Scott Gray is facing charges of first degree home invasion and unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle.
According to court documents, Gray is accused of breaking into a residence in the Village of Quincy and taking some gold watches.
After getting into a confrontation with a female at the back of the residence, Gray is accused of getting a minivan belonging to the property owners and taking off.
He was later apprehended and the minivan was returned to the residence.
Bond was set at $20,000 with ten percent allowed. A probable cause hearing was scheduled for next Thursday with a preliminary exam set for September 15.
