BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – In Mickey Mantle Summer League baseball Wednesday night, the Coldwater Redbirds split a doubleheader with Gull Lake in a pair of five inning games at Battle Creek Central. The Redbirds lost a pitcher’s duel in the opener 1-0. Sean Printke suffered the defeat while giving up only 3 hits with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. Caleb Letendre had two singles.
Coldwater took the nightcap 3-2 with Collin Torrey going the distance on a 2-hitter with 7 strikeouts and 4 walks. Printke had a double with an RBI and Cameron Barnes added a single with an RBI.
The Redbirds record is now 22-5 and they play again tonight at Battle Creek against the Hitters Edge and then tomorrow night, it’s a makeup doubleheader at home against Hillsdale beginning at 5:30 at Lowe Field.
