QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Three pitchers combined on a no-hitter for the Quincy Orioles as they Orioles defeated East Jackson 11-0 in the first game of their season opening doubleheader on Monday.
Winning pitcher Rider Schmachtenberger recorded nine strikeouts in four innings of work. He along with Karsen Maurer and Dreden Feltner did not allow a hit.
The Orioles collected 14 hits in the opener and did not commit an error.
Quincy scored eight runs in the first inning of the second game and coasted to a game shortened 12-1 win.
Ethan Copas and Hunter Tinervia carried the load on the mound while Riley Miner, Brennen Allman and Copas led the offense with two hits each.
Miner, Copas, and Maurer had run scoring doubles and Allman had two RBI.
