COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Community Schools has officially set the date for the 2027 Coldwater High School Commencement Ceremony for Friday, May 21, 2027, at 6:00 p.m.
The decision comes after district officials listened to feedback from local families who expressed concerns about potential scheduling conflicts with Memorial Day weekend plans.
By moving the graduation date earlier, the district aims to ensure that students and their families can celebrate this major milestone without logistical issues. In the event of inclement weather, a rain date has been scheduled for Saturday, May 22, 2027, at 6:00 p.m.
The new scheduling choice will transform the seniors’ final day of high school into a full, uninterrupted celebration filled with long-standing district traditions.
On Friday, May 21, graduating seniors will participate in the Senior Breakfast, the Senior Swing Out, and the Senior Convocation before concluding their high school careers with the 6:00 p.m. commencement ceremony.
In an official announcement, Superintendent Paul Flynn expressed hope that consolidation of these major events will create a deeply memorable final day for the Class of 2027 and establish a meaningful new tradition for future graduating classes. Additional details regarding graduation activities will be shared by Coldwater Community Schools as the date approaches.
