Roy D. Murphy, 87, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Masonville Place.
Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred at the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Roy was born September 16, 1934 in LaGrange, IN to Cletus & Nora (Halsey) Murphy. He married Jacqueline Peck and together they had 5 children. He later married Alice (Knowles) Widlitzki on June 24, 1983. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2019.
Mr. Murphy drove truck for Eckrich for 38 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Coldwater First Presbyterian Church, the Eagles and the Elks. Roy loved to travel, play golf and hunt. He was an outdoorsman who loved taking care of his yard and flower gardening.
Roy is survived by his children Dan Murphy of New Mexico, Michael (Leigh) Murphy of Bee Creek, TX, Timothy (Lana Jones) Murphy of San Marcos, TX, Greg Murphy of Austin, TX; his step children Julia Yearling of Coldwater, Steve (Jodi) Widlitzki of Quincy, Lori (Glen) DeCosta of Arizona; his sister Anna Mae Till of Ft. Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren and his former spouse Jackie Murphy of San Marcos, TX.
In addition to his wife Alice, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 5 sisters and his son Jerry Murphy.
Memorials may be directed to the Coldwater First Presbyterian Church.
