COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A local coalition of busy, but concerned women in Branch County continues to raise big money for area organizations. The group Women Who Care of Branch County, MI met at the Coldwater Eagles Wednesday for only their fifth meeting and awarded $8,100 to the Branch Area Rescue Coalition. That group aids animals in the area.
Since forming a year ago, the group has raised a total of $31,600, with previous donations going to Bridges Out Of Poverty, the Backpack Buddy Program, The Gurlz Club, and Family Promise of Branch County.
The group is comprised of women who want to give back to the community, but don’t have the time or talents at this point in their lives. Instead they meet four times per year and hear a presentation on three area charities. The group votes on which chairity to support and each woman writes a check for $100 directly to the charity.
The Women Who Care of Branch County will meet again in June.
