DETROIT (WTVB) – The Red Wings were blanked 2-0 at home last night by the Canadiens as Montreal scored with 2:30 remaining to break a scoreless tie and send Detroit to its third loss in-a-row. The skid comes on the heels of a 3-game winning streak. Jimmy Howard stopped 27-of-28 shots for the Red Wings. Montreal added an empty-net goal in the final seconds for their fifth straight victory against Detroit. The defeat dropped the third place Red Wings to 6 points behind the Atlantic Division leading Canadiens. Tomorrow night, it’s Detroit at Chicago.
