DETROIT (WTVB) – Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera is scheduled to have a follow up exam today to check his right foot. Cabrera had a stress fracture repaired in his foot and a bone spur taken out of his ankle during a procedure in October, and has been wearing a protective boot to allow him to heal. If the fracture has healed sufficiently, he should be cleared to participate in some drills when the full squad reports for Spring Training next week on Monday. Tigers officials have said they believe Cabrera will be ready to play around Opening Day. Detroit pitchers and catchers report to Lakeland on Thursday.
