COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man who had six criminal cases filed against him in connection with breaking and entering complaints between last October and this past February entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors of Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
A court spokesperson says 36-year-old William Sowards entered guilty pleas to three felony counts of Breaking and Entering.
In exchange for his pleas, all other charges would be dismissed but Sowards will have to pay restitution. The final amount has yet to be determined.
Charges being dismissed include Breaking and Entering a Coin Machine, Possession of Burglary Tools and Malicious Destruction of Personal Property over $200 but less than $1,000.
Sentencing is scheduled to take place July 11.
Sowards was arrested February 13 following a break-in at the Coldwater Golf Course clubhouse after the State Police got a tip he was near the Shell gas station at U.S. 12 and Western Avenue in Coldwater.
He had also been charged in connection with five other Breaking and Entering complaints since October 21, 2021 involving Pines Behavioral Health, Karim Healthcare, Cornwell Computers, Virginia Manor Apartments, and Snyder’s Laundry Mat.
