HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – A Litchfield man was formally charged during an arraignment on Wednesday afternoon in Hillsdale County District Court with allegedly shooting his neighbor in the back of the head.
70-year-old Ned Jackson Kope has been charged with assault with intent to murder and felony firearm.
He is being held without bond in the Hillsdale County Jail.
Kope is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing next Wednesday with a preliminary exam set for June 15.
The Michigan State Police in Jackson say a neighbor dispute apparently led to the shooting of a 46-year-old man early Wednesday morning in the 7000 block of Hadley Road in Litchfield.
The shooting victim was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
