ATLANTA (WTVB) – The CDC says it appears the flu season has peaked and it has been a bad one, particularly on the elderly according to the latest numbers. They say they were hit with a double whammy because the H3N2 virus is a nasty strain and the flu vaccine was only 23% effective. Jennifer Smith with the Michigan Department of Health says they may be past the peak, but it isn’t over. The flu season usually lingers until March or April and this year should be no exception.
