Adelia A. Kubasiak, 97, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at Matteson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Adelia was born September 7, 1924 in Bronson, MI to Steve & Agnes (Czajkowski) Klavinski. She married Theodore F. (Teed) Kubasiak on September 25, 1945 in Bronson. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1998.
Mrs. Kubasiak was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker while raising their four children until all were of school age. She worked at several area companies including Lake Erie Door in Coldwater, Bronson Specialties, Douglas Autotech in Bronson and finally H.G. Geiger, from which she retired in 1987.
Adelia was a member of St. Mary’s Church where she belonged to the St. Mary’s Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Society. She enjoyed bowling, traveling across the country for many tournaments and was a member of the Women’s Bowling Association. Adelia and Teed loved to travel to their northern Michigan vacation home, near Baldwin. She was an avid “fishing lady” and known to some as the “bass lady.”
Adelia loved crafts, cooking, crocheting and playing cards, especially with her grandchildren and was proud to have been named Polish Festival Queen in 2012. She was known to hit the slots at the casino, even taking a few trips to Las Vegas and Reno.
Adelia is survived by her children Duane (Barb) Kubasiak, Larry (Pat) Kubasiak, Connie (Verl) Rumsey, Sandra (Kim) Pitts all of Bronson; her grandchildren Rick (Patty) Kubasiak, Chad (Danielle) Kubasiak, Cheryl (Jamie) Vaughn, Scot (Robin) Kubasiak, Sarah (Matt) Hagen, Kevin (Tiffany) Rustad, Corey (Candra) Rustad, Shelly (Rich Heath) Stevens, Teddy Pitts, Katie (James) Tracey; 15 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson David Kubasiak, son-in-law Jim Rustad, her brothers Floyd, David and Stanley Klavinski and her sisters Alberta Malovey, Clara Losinski, Alice Ratkowski and Geraldine Albright.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s School or the Humane Society of Branch County.
