BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Summer doesn’t officially end until Tuesday morning at 9:31 a.m. EDT but there was frost on the pumpkin Saturday morning as temperatures dropped to near freezing.
The Branch County Memorial Airport recorded a low temperature of 33 degrees at 7:35 a.m. on Saturday morning. It’s the coldest morning in Coldwater since May 13th when the low dipped to 34 degrees.
A Frost Advisory was issued by the National Weather Service for southern lower Michigan as well as for northern Indiana and northern Ohio.
As for nearby communities, Marshall had a low of 32, Kalamazoo’s low hit 33 degrees and it got down to 35 degrees in Battle Creek.
Portions of the northern Lower Peninsula were in the 20s. Grayling had the lowest temperature at 22 degrees.
The frosty weather will not stick around. National Weather Forecasters are calling for highs to get back into the 70s next week with highs on Wednesday near 80.
