DETROIT (WTVB) – Interstate 8 co-champion Jackson Lumen Christi won its ninth state championship with a 26-14 win against Maple City Glen Lake in the MHSAA Division 6 Final at Ford Field. Bo Bell had 40 carries for 238 yards and a touchdown, while teammate Kyle Minder had 21 carries for 66 yards and 3 scores. Minder and Luke Stanton had 7 tackles apiece to lead the defense for the Titans, who finish the season at 12-2.

The winter sports schedule in Branch County tips off next week with a light schedule of girls basketball. On Tuesday night, Coldwater opens the season hosting Portage Central, while Union City hosts Colon. Coming up on Friday, Bronson hosts Cassopolis, and Union City entertains Marshal Academy. Boys basketball will begin the week of December 5th.
