COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their work session Thursday to bring forward a $38,200 bid from Hoekstra of Kalamazoo for repairs on the roof of the Branch County Jail to their meeting next Tuesday.
The bid from Hoekstra was one of two bids submitted. The other totaling over $65,000 came from Schust of Fort Wayne.
According to Scott Walls from Branch County Maintenance, Hoekstra indicated they would not have to replace the insulation.
The warranty offered by Hoekstra was for 20 years compared to 15 years from Schust. The work would be done in the northwestern part of the building.
Branch County commissioners also decided to bring forward action on a new animal shelter to Tuesday’s meeting. A proposed partnership with Hillsdale County will depend on action by their Commissioners on Monday.
