COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a productive session in October, the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education will host another community forum Monday night as it looks at the state of the district’s facilities and potential improvements. The community forum will be held in the Media Center at Coldwater High School from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to share feedback from the October 11 meeting as well as go over building capacity analysis findings and district wide student population density. Also scheduled is a presentation on a preliminary Masterplan scenerio.
Meetings have been held in recent months to address the problem of aging buildings in the district as general fund money has been used to take care of infrastructure issues.
Superintendent Terry Boguth says there have been a number of creative ideas on dealing with the distributionof students throughout the buildings. If the school board decides to goal ahead with a bond proposal for renovations or new construction, Boguth says it probably wouldn’t be until August 2017.
